Grants for Great Ideas
A program funding innovative projects that cost up to $1000 that are available to public school educators committed to enhancing the classroom experience through the exploration of creative ideas and implementation of innovative teaching techniques. Creating a rain forest in the classroom complete with living creatures, constructing a Native American village, tracking the lives of immigrant Americans through Ellis Island, learning about the people, geography and culture of Alaska by following the day-to-day progress of the Iditarod - these are examples of the exciting projects gifted, energetic teachers create for students, with just a little help from The Foundation for Tulsa Schools.

Completed applications must be postmarked no later than April 1st.  Awards will be made and checks distributed before June 1st. With a program as broad as Grants for Great Ideas, it is sometimes hard to know where to start.  Maybe we can help with a  list of the most commonly asked questions.  If you have a question not on the list, please let us know. To apply, just print and follow the guidelines carefully, and complete the Grants for Great Ideas application

Special Projects
Creating computer-generated music and art; digging carefully through a simulated archeological site; peering through a high-powered telescope at the stars and planets; capturing, identifying and mounting every kind of insect imaginable are just a few of the many activities FTS has funded through Special Projects. These are awarded on a competitive basis and frequently involve entire schools, more than one school, and/or several disciplines.

Special Projects proposals fund major innovative projects which involve a team of teachers or an entire faculty and a larger number of students than a single classroom, with funding ranging from $1,000 to $15,000. To apply, just print, read and follow carefully the Special Projects guidelines. These proposals may be submitted at any time. Return your completed proposal to FTS several months prior to scheduled implementation.
